If you are planning to stay in Oxford, either for the day or two of the wedding, we have, (which we ourselves would be happy to stay in). We have pre-booked rooms in some hotels, but in all cases, decent hotels in Oxford can be hard to come by, so
booking early is always better. Given prices are for standard and deluxe rooms. Depending on the number of people for our wedding party who choose to stay at a given hotel, there may be a 10-20 percent group booking discount, so if you choose a hotel below, please tell the hotel that you are with the Armstrong/Sekki party when you book your room.
HELPFUL ADVICE:
- Booking on www.lastminute.com may find you much cheaper prices than booking directly (we’ve found this to be true, at least).
- There are literally hundreds of bed and breakfasts both in the city centre and further out from Oxford, but we cannot recommend these personally as we haven’t seen the majority of them! If you’d like us to give you a list, however, please do let us know and we’ll send you some phone numbers of bed and breakfasts that are a reasonable distance from Oxford.
- Please reserve your room in advance, even if you are not 100 percent sure you will be able to come – rooms in Oxford book up extraordinarily quickly, so better to be safe now and cancel later if necessary.
- Again, please inform the hotel that you are with our wedding party – that way everyone who books there will hopefully benefit from some discount!
Central Backpackers Oxford, 2 star hostel, £16-£19 per person per night

A hostel in the centre of Oxford, it provides some of the most inexpensive housing you could ask for. The rooms are very clean, and the staff are extremely friendly. Miriam’s sister stayed here during a visit to Oxford and thoroughly enjoyed her time there. The main disadvantage is that there is a nightclub across the street, so it may not be the best hostel if you are a sensitive sleeper. However, if you let us know that you are interested at staying at this hostel, we’ll try to arrange a group booking so that all our friends can stay in the same room. There are rooms that sleep between 4 and 12 people, so if there are enough of you interested, this could be quite a fun and inexpensive solution.
YHA Oxford, 4 star hostel, £23-£29 per person per night

An immaculate hostel a bit further outside of Oxford, but still a good walking distance. It is in a fairly quiet area, so does not have the noise disadvantage that Central Backpackers does. However, it is a bit pricier. Again, we can arrange a room for people coming to our wedding party, so just let us know!

These are serviced apartments in the Oxford city centre, and offer apartments from studio to 4 bedrooms. These could offer an extremely good option in their 2-bedroom apartments (which sleep 4 people), so if you are interested in one of these, please let us know as soon as possible, and we can arrange to have you share the apartment with some of our other wedding guests.

Located as close to the centre of Oxford as one can get, this is a very small but lovely hotel, and has some rooms overlooking the oldest college in Oxford. The rooms are nicely done and clean, though it will not be silent overlooking the street, which is something to consider should you choose to book this hotel.
Bath Place Hotel, (No rating) (£85-135 per night)

A beautiful 17th century hotel in the very centre of Oxford, between two of Oxford University’s oldest colleges. It is in one of the oldest parts of Oxford, and is very charming. It is next to the Turf tavern, the oldest inn in the city, from the 13th century. The rooms are traditional and lovely. There are also two connecting rooms in this hotel which normally serve as family rooms.

A converted castle and then Victorian prison, it has beautiful rooms, some even with prison doors and bars if you want a unique experience. Extremely good amenities, in the centre of Oxford and surrounded by little quads with bars and restaurants.

A luxury hotel in the centre of Oxford, it has beautiful views (particularly from room 45, if you request it). It has large, well-decorated rooms, has an excellent restaurant on site, has beautiful views of Oxford, and has a dedicated room for wheelchair users. It has artwork throughout, as the owner is an art collector. Also, parking is available. If this is within your price range, it is definitely the most preferable hotel in Oxford.
